Implement strategic and operational police community relations programs as prescribed by the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR).
Assist the Regional, District, Provincial and City Police Offices and the various National Support Units in implementing their respective police community relations program.
Act as the lead operating unit of the PNP on matters pertaining to police community related activities in areas and concerns as designated by higher authorities.
Produce information materials for dissemination/distribution to the PNP units, the community and other stakeholders through the various media such as the print, radio, television and the cyberspace in order to enhance knowledge and awareness on law enforcement matters, and to generate trust, confidence and popular support of the community.
Conduct continuing training and education on values orientation, the Community Oriented Policing System and the Criminal Justice System among others to the police, LGUs, the NGOs and other stakeholders.
Formulate institutional mechanism that will promote closer police community relations and will enhance cooperation, coordination and networking with People’s Organizations, Citizen’s Volunteer Organizations and Non-Government Organizations, domestic or foreign.
Undertake medical, dental and optical; bloodletting; sports and cultural development; auxiliary disaster relief and mitigation; and other community related assistance and development activities in coordination with concerned government agencies and volunteer non-government organizations.
Undertake and assist in the implementation of PNP socio-economic and other livelihood programs for PNP personnel and / or host communities.
Provide an alternative channel for the public to report crimes, suggestions to improve delivery of police services, for filing of complaints on the conduct of PNP personnel or for commending deserving personnel.
Acts as the historian of the PNP and maintain the PNP Museums and its related facilities.
